LBH Sports development  

London Youth Games – with trials and qualifiers in full swing we are currently 3rd in the overall standings. Culminating in finals weekend on 6th/7th July.

 Mini Marathon results were very good – Abigail Ives winning her category. 2 team golds and 2 team bronze across the 6 categories.

 May half term booking going well with some really popular courses like Golf and Football camp.

 Disability cricket event at Havering College (Quarles Campus) linked to cricket world cup – Thursday 13th June.

 Applied for funding for £5k to run sessions to target at risk young people - Mayor of London Activities Fund.

  Planning summer program and dance program for a Sept start.

  We saw over 400 participants on our Easter program.

  New Hornchurch Sports Centre progressing well, pools being dug, steel framework being erected starting in the next week or two. External drainage works are commencing this week that will see a traffic light system in operation on the roads around the existing centre. These works are unavoidable, and are likely to cause some disruption for which we apologise in advance.

 Chafford Sports Complex – Council withdrawing from managing the Complex on Friday evening. Facility being handed back to school – pool and gym will not continue. Work is underway on a feasibility for a new sports centre in the south of the borough with a report expected to go to members for a decision in the Autumn.
